With the specs i5-6300U/16GB RAM/SSD, CPU load reaches 25-32% for SEP. It happens 2-3 times a minute and is only active for about 4 seconds each time. On some rare cases, the issue can only be seen once an hour (Same as our normal SEP heartbeat interval)įile I/O and CPU utilization from windows performance recording: From the looks of it it's reading definition files very frequent which is causing the issue. It's possible that yours, like our environment are able to handle this additional load fairly well and that the issue has gone unnoticed, but it's clear that something is wrong when you dig down to it.īased on Windows performance recordings (WPR), this is caused by ccSvcHst.exe. The issue is causing frequent short bursts of High file I/O, CPU load and an high amount of unnecessary web requests. If more happen to have the same issue(s) Im hopping this will result in more support ticket's to Symantec. I've had a support case open towards Symantec for 5 months now regarding this issue and it's affecting 8K workstations running SEP with SEPM in pull mode, It's my belief that this is an issue affecting more customers and I'm reaching out to try to get this confirmed or denied.
